Cassin's Snow Goose, Anser albatus, an original lithograph with hand color from The new and heretofore unfigured species of the birds of North America, by Daniel Giraud Elliot, published in 1866 to 1869 and issued by Bowen & Co. The scientific name is lettered beneath the image, and the plate is dated 1869 in the catalog.

Two white geese are drawn on a pebbly shore, the large adult standing in the foreground with its head turned toward the viewer, black-edged wings folded and bright yellow feet, while a second bird swims in the shallow water behind it. The bill is dark with a pale base, the water is a flat blue-gray line, and the stones are scattered along the bank in warm tones. The credits are lettered below the image: drawn from nature by Elliot and printed from the stone.

Elliot's work on the new and little-known species of North American birds was issued in a large folio format, and the plates are among the finest American ornithological lithographs of the 1860s.
