Latham's guillemot, a color lithograph lettered "Sagmatorhina lathami", from Daniel Giraud Elliot's "The New and Heretofore Unfigured Species of the Birds of North America", published between 1866 and 1869. The lettering gives the drawing to J. Wolf, with the year 1868, and the printing to Bowen & Co. of Philadelphia, and the sheet is a tall format of about 70 by 62 cm.

A single bird stands upright on a mossy rock, seen from the side, with a brown back and wings, a paler barred breast, a dark head and a stout yellow bill with a bluish base. Grass tufts grow from the rock, and a cloudy sky with pink and yellow light stretches behind it.

The work appeared between 1866 and 1869 and set out to figure North American species not previously illustrated. Only 200 copies were printed, and the lithography was by Bowen & Co. of Philadelphia.
