A Gordon Setter on point with a pheasant in flight, a vintage color print by Paul Wood titled "Setter and Pheasant," signed in pencil and issued in New York in the 1930s. A printed copyright line at the upper right gives New York, U.S.A.

The black and tan setter stands in tall autumn grass, head thrown back and one foreleg raised, while a cock pheasant rises above it with wings open, showing its green head and long barred tail. Two silver birches rise at the right beside a rough rail fence, and a stream and low hills fade into a pale sky at the left. The palette is warm and muted, with golden grass and soft blue distances, and the sheet has a blind plate mark around the image.

The subject is the upland game hunt, a standard theme of American sporting art in the first half of the 20th century.
