Geese, an original color lithograph of 1886 (plate XIV) from De Vogelwereld, Handboek voor liefhebbers van kamer- en parkvogels by A. Nuyens, published by J.B. Wolters. The plate is signed "J. Bungartz fec." at the lower left, and the five birds are numbered 59 to 63 on the image. Each color was printed from a separate lithographic stone on a smooth vellum-like paper.

Five geese gather at a pond edge among reeds and rushes, with lily pads on the water in front. At the left a gray goose of the domestic type with orange bill stands beside a white goose with orange bill, and at the center a Canada goose with black neck, white cheek patch and brown-gray back stands with its head turned toward the viewer. A white goose with a yellow bill stands at the lower right, and at the upper right a duck-like goose with a white head, pale body and green and reddish wing is shown.

De Vogelwereld was a Dutch handbook for those who kept ornamental birds in cages, aviaries and parks.
