This print originates from 'A History of the Earth and Animated Nature' by Oliver Goldsmith. Goldsmith's Animated Nature went through over twenty editions into the Victorian era and served as a popular source of information about the natural world. This print is from the 1862 edition published by Blackie & Son.
Artists and Engravers: Oliver Goldsmith (10 November 1728, 4 April 1774) was an Irish novelist, playwright and poet.
