The antique print titled 'Antilope Corinna - La Gazelle Corinne' represents an original depiction of a gazelle. This print originates from 'Illustrations de La Ménagerie du Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle' or 'The Menagerie of the National Museum of Natural History.' This publication was released in Paris between 1800 and 1805 through ten folio deliveries, each containing detailed engravings of animals.
Engraved by Miger, this particular illustration is dedicated to showcasing the 'Antilope Corinna' or 'La Gazelle Corinne.' It stands as a testament to the scientific and artistic endeavors prevalent during the early 19th century, offering a visual representation of gazelles found in the collection of the National Museum of Natural History in Paris.
These engravings were part of a comprehensive project aimed at documenting the diverse fauna housed in the museum's menagerie. Miger's intricate engravings provided invaluable visual references for researchers, scientists, and enthusiasts interested in zoology, offering detailed anatomical and visual insights into various animal species during that era.
