Bharal (Blue Sheep), Antique Himalayan Wildlife Chromolithograph

DESCRIPTION

This chromolithograph depicts Bharal, or blue sheep, set against a dramatic mountainous landscape. The composition balances rugged terrain with calm grazing figures, conveying both environment and species character.

From The Royal Natural History (London, 1894), the plate reflects Victorian interest in remote and little-known regions. The original artwork is attributed to P. J. Smit.

Its cool mountain tones and expansive background make it ideal for collectors drawn to alpine or Asian themes.
