North American Deer, a plate drawn and engraved by D.T. Egerton and published by Sherwood, Neely & Jones. The original engraving is printed in black on paper, with the title "North American Deer" lettered beneath the image and the publisher's imprint at the lower right.

The scene shows a stag with a wide, branching rack of antlers standing at the right, facing the viewer, with a doe and her fawn walking past at the left. They stand in a fenced paddock beside a thatched barn, with a clump of hay at the right edge, two trees behind the palings and a cloudy sky above. The animals are drawn with careful attention to anatomy and the grain of their coats, while the setting is distinctly rural English.

The plate is a portrait of the deer in a domestic setting, not a wild scene.
