Title: Antique Botanical Wall Art Set of 3, Alpine Rose, Primrose & Wildflowers, 1874
Description: This elegant decorative set of three original 19th-century botanical prints was published in London in 1874 and features finely colored studies of alpine and garden flowers. These are genuine antique prints, not reproductions or later copies, each printed with Latin captions and hand-finished color.
The plants depicted include:
– Alpine Rose (Rhododendron)
– Primrose (Primula)
– Beardtongue (Penstemon)
– St John’s Wort (Hypericum)
The illustrations are beautifully balanced, with flowers and foliage set against open, uncluttered backgrounds that give the set a refined and timeless look. The soft palette of pinks, blues, yellows, and greens makes these prints particularly attractive for interior decoration, working well in both classic and contemporary spaces.
Originally created for a scientific botanical publication, the prints combine botanical accuracy with a strong decorative sensibility. Displayed together, they form a harmonious group ideal for framing as a vertical trio, horizontal arrangement, or spaced evenly along a wall.
Each print is printed on original 19th-century paper and retains the subtle warmth and texture typical of Victorian botanical works. Their modest scale makes them versatile and easy to place, especially in bedrooms, hallways, studies, or curated gallery walls.
Dimensions:
Each print approximately 10 x 6.7 inches (25.4 x 17 cm). Sizes vary slightly due to original production and trimming.
