Plate 128: '1. Le Grigri - 2. Le Cassican.' (1. Black-necked Aracari - 2. Australian Magpie). This print originates from 'Oeuvres completes, - suivies de ses continuateurs Daubenton, Lacepede, Cuvier, Dumeril, Poiret, Lesson et Geoffreoy-St-Hilaire; seule edition complete avec figures coloriees.', by Georges Louis Marie Leclerc, Comte de Buffon, published 1828-1833 Bruxelles, chez Th. Lejeune, Libraire-editeurs.

An aracari or araçari is any of the medium-sized toucans that, together with the saffron toucanet, make up the genus Pteroglossus.

They are brightly plumaged and have enormous, contrastingly patterned bills. These birds are residents in forests and woodlands in the Neotropics.
